EASY project final conference took place in Sofia, including a practical workshop based on the EASY Toolkit, discussions, and quiz.
Overview
The second learning teaching and training activity (LTTA) within the EASY project took place in the period 19-21 September 2023. The Adult Educators training was hosted by HF & VUC FYN in Odense, Denmark. A total of 15 adult educators took part in the training – 3 from each partner country – Poland, Portugal, Greece, Denmark and Bulgaria. There was 1 trainer from the project consortium and 2 trainers who are not involved in EASY project from each country. The main learning goals for the training were to pilot test PR3 EASY Toolkit and in the same time train educators on how to use the EASY Toolkit with their own adult learners.
The training program was very intensive and took the form of 10 workshops, lasting 1.5 hours each, exploring different films and comic strips from the EASY catalogue. Each partner organization was responsible for 2 workshops (a total of 3 hours). Acta Foundation led two workshops – one on the documentary “The mask you live in” and one focused on the comic strip “Joan of Arc revealed to be a woman”.
In the afternoon on the last day there was a group discussion on the overall Toolkit, and guidance on how the adult educators can they use the Toolkit with their own adult learners, in the following weeks.
The practical sessions focused on 5 of the 12 movies included in the EASY Catalogue:
- · Hidden figures
- · The mask you live in
- · Grace and Frankie
- · The best exotic Marigold hotel
- · Passing
There was a large variety of interactive activities organized by the trainers such as: Interactive quizzes, Make your own short movie, Discussing a quote from the documentary, Creating an ending to the story, Crossword, Fill in the speech bubbles, Make your own comic strip, Matching quotes, Personal mask exploration, Character dialogue rewrite, Gender stereotype scavenger hunt and many others.
There were special feedback and evaluation sessions which helped partners to collect useful comments and ideas for improvement of the Toolkit and result in Toolkit v.2. The applying of the toolkit in practice by the trained educators will provide useful information to contribute to the creation of PR4 – EASY Guide. The feedback by the participants was that the training was very impactful and provided real inspiration along with practical tools.
