COVID-19 made companies across the EU realise digitalisation and Industry4.0 transition are imperative if they want to stay on the market. According to the Digitalisation in Europe 2020/21: Evidence from EIB Investment Survey (2022) companies that already had a strong digital presence maintained contact with their clients, suppliers and employees when EU economies were forced to close. In line with the Green Deal main targets as well as the European Industrial strategy, the TWIN 4.0 project aims to contribute towards faster recovery of manufacturing SMEs across Europe through a package of tools to support their digital and green transition.

Project Objectives

The TWIN 4.0 main aim is to boost the capacity of manufacturing SMEs for twin transition by equipping them with comprehensive training and thus raise their awareness on the need of this transition. The specific objectives are to:

Expected results

The project objectives are directly linked to the 3 main results that TWIN 4.0 project will aim to produce, as follows:
The expected impact of the TWIN 4.0 results application will be raised awareness and boosted capacity for twin transition of the manufacturing industry. Manufacturing SMEs will acquire know-how on environmental impact auditing and will raise their knowledge & awareness on the business benefits of twin transition thus being encouraged to adapt more sustainable business models.

Project consortium

The consortium consists of 5 partners from 5 EU countries as follows: The University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology of Târgu Mureș (Romania) – Coordinator; Acta Foundation (Bulgaria); Innogestiona Ambiental SL (Spain); Fenice Foundation (Italy) and PCX Computers & Information Systems Ltd (Cyprus).
