As global economies shift from linear to circular economies, the need to build on green skills and competencies becomes critical across sectors and industries, and the role of universities in developing these skills becomes more evident. Universities play a vital role in equipping future professionals and leaders with the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to pursue green careers and contribute to a sustainable future.

Project Objectives
- The SustainEd project overall goal is to develop and implement a sustainable learning program for university students that combines living labs and WebQuests, to enhance their understanding of sustainability and circular economy concepts, develop their green skills and competencies, and prepare them for effective participation in the green transition, contributing towards the achievement of the SDGs.
Expected results
SustainEd stipulates the following results:
- SustainEdX: The Sustainable Learning Experience Toolkit for HE students
- SustainEdM: Sustainable Learning Experience Teaching Manual
- SustainEdG: A Guide to Designing Effective Educational Experiences
Project consortium
The partnership consists of 6 organisations from 6 EU countries as follows: Milton Friedman University (Hungary) – Coordinator; Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain); Fenice Foundation (Italy); Acta Foundation (Bulgaria); StoryTellMe (Portugal); ETE FAROS Ltd. (Cyprus)

It has an estimated budget of €26.2 billion. The 2021-2027 programme places a strong focus on social inclusion, the green and digital transitions, and promoting young people’s participation in democratic life. It supports priorities and activities set out in the European Education Area, Digital Education Action Plan and the European Skills Agenda. The programme also supports the European Pillar of Social Rights, implements the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027 and develops the European dimension in sport.
