Overview

Project start date: 01.09.2023
Project end date: 31.08.2025

Consent is an important issue for all EU Member States, as it is recognized as a fundamental human right. Understanding the importance of consent is essential for building healthy and respectful relationships, preventing sexual assault and harassment, and creating a safer and more inclusive society. Despite these advancements in policy to protect individuals around consent, young people and students may not have had the opportunity to learn about consent in a comprehensive and meaningful way. Many educational systems across Europe still do not include consent education as part of their curricula, leaving young people to rely on informal sources such as peers, the media, and the internet for information. It is for these reasons that ACT4CONSENT intends to develop a new education approach to support secondary-school teachers and other youth educators to address the issue of consent directly with young people, through active and meaningful education interventions.
